Following a sound grounding in local newspapers and women’s interest magazines,
I spent 25 years writing and editing for the heating and plumbing trade press,
including market‐leading publications such as Bathrooms, Heating & Plumbing
Monthly and Heating Ventilating and Plumbing. I held the Chair of the Women
in Plumbing & Heating Group for three years from 2006 to the end of 2008,
a sub‐group of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering,
as well as sitting on various committees and projects with other leading trade
and professional bodies in the construction industry.

In 2006 I took a career move to work in public relations, becoming a Partner
with a small PR company in the Midlands, JGMM, which subsequently became
part of Next Level Design, based in Yorkshire. In April 2009 I left to take six
months unpaid Adoption Leave.

I set up bigginwords in September 2009, combining a host skills and experience
to offer a quality, bespoke service at value‐for‐money prices. Working from a fully serviced office, I am supported by a team of experienced writers, PR and admin personnel, and have links to graphic designers, web designers, photographers, printers and IT support.

Based on the Kent/Surrey borders, close to the M25, bigginwords is ideally
positioned to service clients in the Southeast, but with easy access to
motorways, rail links and airports can cover the whole of the UK.

Barbar Field-Holmes, Director of BigginwordsWhether you are looking for a full PR campaign/service,
project work or ad-hoc releases/features, give me a call.
I can offer competitive rates to suit you budget and needs.
